FEMA Mobile Registration Intake Centers in Bay, Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa and Walton counties will temporarily close on Wednesday, Oct. 28 and Thursday, Oct. 29 as a precautionary measure due to the Tropical Storm Warning in the area for Hurricane Zeta. They closed temporarily at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27. The centers will reopen when weather conditions permit.

Due to Escambia County being under a Tropical Storm Warning for Hurricane Zeta, ECAT (Escambia County Area Transit) will suspend all bus and UWF trolley service beginning at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28. A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Zeta, which is currently tracking toward the Gulf Coast and is forecast to be a hurricane prior to making landfall between Morgan City, Louisiana and the Mississippi/Alabama border late Wednesday, according to the National Hurricane Center. Zeta will likely move into our area as a strong tropical storm late Wednesday night. Escambia County is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Zeta and is encouraging residents to take precautions as needed through Thursday, Oct. 29.

Escambia County Development Services Department hosted a citizen engagement meeting on Monday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m. about the proposed transitional future land use category for agricultural areas. The meeting location was at the Escambia County Central Office Complex, 3363 West Park Place, Pensacola, FL 32505, in Conference Room 104. Escambia County is pleased to announce the final set out date of Tuesday, Dec. 1 for Hurricane Sally generated debris. Contractors completed the first substantial pass of debris removal countywide Friday, Oct. 23 and are continuing to make multiple passes. The county began its recovery process in the wake of Hurricane Sally with curbside removal of debris for residents on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
