Adoption fees (special event pricing may be available):

Adoption fees include spay or neuter surgery, microchip, heartworm tests, basic vaccinations including rabies, and other veterinary care as needed while at the shelter. The adopter is responsible for any medical care after the adoption has been completed. Adopters are required to take their new pet to a primary vet within the first week after adoption. Owners will be provided a copy of their pets medical record to show the veterinarian.

• Cats of all ages ‐ $25

Animal license tags:

Escambia County residents must also purchase a license for $15, and then annually. Animals must be licensed within seven days of adoption. The tag must be worn by the cat or dog. This tag provides information that will allow Animal Services to easily verify if the animal is current on rabies vaccinations in the event of a bite. Licensing your pet helps in contacting the owner of a lost animal.  

• Altered animal ‐ $15
• Unaltered animal ‐ $40
• Duplicate tag (replacement for a lost tag) ‐ $6
• Dangerous/vicious dog registration (annual renewal) ‐ $200
  

Additional Adoption Services at Request  

• Cardboard cat carrier (for the safety of adopted cats and their adopters we require that the adopter have some type of acceptable carrier to transport the new pet home) ‐ $5
• Feline Leukemia Test (by adopter request, must be paid for before testing) - $20
  

Redemption of impounded animals (excluding livestock):

Redemption fees will be calculated at the time of redemption and may include the following.    

• First offense - $15 (licensed) or $35 (unlicensed)
• Second offense - $25 (licensed) or $60 (unlicensed)
• Third offense (mandatory spay or neuter required) - $35 (licensed) or $85 (unlicensed)
• Boarding per day (routine) - $10
• Boarding per day (legal, dangerous, or bite) - $15
• Admissions processing - $25
• Rabies vaccination (if not current) - $15 plus appropriate licensing fee
• Microchip (mandatory) - $20
• Chemical immobilization - $50
• Spay/neuter (mandatory on third impound) - $75
• Any citations for violations of county ordinances. Multiple citations can be issued.  

Redemption of Livestock:

• Redemption - $35
• Boarding per day - $20
• Equine Coggins Test - $50
• Necessary veterinary or farrier care - actual expenses

Service fees:

• Pick up of owner's animal - $35
• Each additional animal per call - $10
• Euthanasia request (veterinarian recommendation required) - $25
• Deceased animal disposal - $10
