Visitors to Pensacola Beach were treated to an exciting sight today, Tuesday, June 2: a female Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle crawling ashore to nest and lay her eggs. She is the third turtle to nest on Escambia County Beaches this season, with two loggerhead nests recorded earlier in the week.

Beginning Monday, June 1, passengers will be encouraged to wear face masks while riding Escambia County Area Transit buses. If a rider does not already have a mask, ECAT employees will offer a mask to the passenger during the month of June to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. ECAT operators will also continue to wear masks.
