The Escambia County Board of Commissioners will hold several meetings Thursday, Jan. 23. The Board of County Commissioners Public Forum will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the BCC Regular Meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. All meetings will take place in the board chambers of the Ernie Lee Magaha Government Building, found on the first floor of 221 Palafox Place.

The 2019 "Keep the Wreath Green" fire safety campaign has come to an end with 13 red bulbs on the fire safety wreath, each representing a residential structure fire in Escambia County during the month of December. The 2018 campaign ended with seven red bulbs, the 2017 campaign ended with 10 red bulbs, the 2016 campaign ended with 12 red bulbs and the 2015 campaign ended with nine red bulbs.
