Detroit Boulevard closures were originally anticipated to begin Jan. 4, 2022. Due to delays, Detroit Boulevard closures will now begin Jan. 11 with a new expected completion date of March 11.
Beginning Jan.11 at 7 a.m., Detroit Boulevard will be closed to through traffic from Kingfisher Way to Fowler Avenue. During this time, construction crews will be installing new force main and sewer in the neighborhood. Traffic will be detoured to Nine Mile Road.
This is expected to be a two-month long project, with construction wrapping up by March 11. Once construction is complete, the roads will be clear for all traffic to pass through. If other roadway closures are necessary, another notice will be issued.
A formal Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Plan was submitted and approved by the Escambia County Transportation and Traffic Operations Division on Dec. 1, 2021. Ryan Rice, ACME Barricade’s representative, was responsible for submittal of the approved MOT Plan and has a valid certificate for Advanced MOT training.
