Scam Alert: Escambia County Warns of Planning and Zoning Invoice Scams

Published Apr 8, 2026

Escambia County is aware of ongoing fraudulent emails claiming to represent Escambia County Development Services staff, requesting immediate payment to approve Planning and Zoning applications.

Escambia County is urging the public not to respond to these fraudulent messages, pay the attached invoices, or click any links. These emails are not legitimate and are not associated with Escambia County Development Services or other county staff.

Planning and Zoning invoices will be sent from a county staff member with a myescambia.com email address and can be paid in person via cash or check or through the MyGovernmentOnline website via a secure link. Escambia County staff will never ask for payment to be made through a wire transfer. To view a list of Planning and Zoning fees, click here
