Escambia County invites residents to a community input meeting to discuss the Redevelopment Plan for the Brownsville Community Redevelopment Area. The meeting will take place Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. at the Brownsville Community Center, located at 3200 W. De Soto St. One or more Escambia County Commissioners may be in attendance.
The purpose of the meeting is to gather community input for updating the Brownsville CRA Redevelopment Plan. Escambia County staff will be in attendance to address any needs within the Brownsville Community, including septic to sewer and residential grants, commercial development, and more.
The Brownsville Redevelopment Plan, originally adopted by the Board of County Commissioners in 1997 and updated in 2004, was designed to facilitate
positive transformation, preservation, and revitalization of the neighborhoods in the designated Brownsville
Redevelopment Area. The Brownsville CRA offers a wide array of commercial and retail uses along five commercial corridors which include Mobile Highway, Pace Boulevard, “W” and “T” Street and the northernmost section of New Warrington Road.
Brownsville CRA neighborhood meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at the Brownsville Community Center, located at 3200 W. De Soto St.
