Detours will be in place on West Sunset Avenue between Gulf Beach Highway and McCarroll Road, with traffic detoured along McCarroll Road and West Winthrop Avenue back to Gulf Beach Highway. Motorists traveling on West Sunset Avenue should use extra caution and follow road crew instructions and posted signs when traveling through the work zone. The road is expected to reopen by Tuesday, Aug. 19, weather permitting.
Residents, pedestrians, and emergency vehicles will have access to properties within the work area at all times; however, there may be short periods when a driveway or entrance may be blocked temporarily as equipment and materials are moved during construction.
If other roadway closures are necessary or work is delayed, another notice will be issued.
