Over 60 Pets Find Homes During Petco MEGA Love Adoption Event

Published Jul 1, 2025

Approximately 62 cats and dogs across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties found homes this past weekend during the Petco MEGA Love Pet Adoption Event, an initiative aimed at helping animal shelters across the state of Florida find homes for over 2,000 cats and dogs.

The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare, Santa Rosa County Animal Services, and the Pensacola Humane Society all participated in the weekend-long adoption event, hosting adoptions at various locations in Northwest Florida to help connect families with the perfect pet.

Escambia County Animal Welfare participated in the event Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28, with adoptions taking place at the Animal Welfare and Adoption Center on Friday and Saturday and at the Hadji Temple Shrine on Saturday.

“This is the second time we’ve participated in the Petco LOVE Adoption Event, and we are so grateful to our community for coming out and supporting our mission,” Animal Welfare Director John Robinson said. “Shelters throughout the state are experiencing overcrowded conditions, and events like this help us connect pets with loving homes that can give them a happier, healthier life. Thank you to everyone involved who made this event possible and continues to support the work we do.”
