Gulf Beach Highway Drainage Project to Begin Oct. 22

Published Oct 18, 2024

Phase I of the Gulf Beach Highway Drainage Project will begin Tuesday, Oct. 22, as crews perform roadway reconstruction and install storm drainpipes and structures along McCarroll Road.

McCaroll Road between West Sunset Avenue and Holmes Drive will be closed to through traffic, remaining open only to local access. Only one section of McCarroll Road will remain closed at a time. The road is expected to reopen by Friday, Dec. 20.

Residents, pedestrians, local traffic and emergency vehicles will have access to properties within the work area at all times; however, there may be short periods when a driveway or entrance may be blocked temporarily as equipment and materials are moved during construction. Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through work zones.

If other roadway closures are necessary or work is delayed, another notice will be issued.
