The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to recognize Sergeant William Hallford of the Corrections department as the February 2023 Employee of the Month. The board recognized Sergeant Halford’s selection at the Feb. 2 BCC meeting.

Sergeant Hallford began his career with Escambia County on July 29, 2013. In June 2015, he joined the Tactical Response Team and was appointed to K-9 Officer in February 2020. He was the first K-9 Officer selected for the position at the jail and since then, has worked hard to develop and promote the K-9 program at the Escambia County Correctional Facility.

Later that year, in March, he became certified in narcotics detection and evidence recovery through the United States Police Canine Association. In addition to his role with Escambia County Corrections, Sergeant Hallford regularly supports law enforcement officials and has assisted in recovering countless amounts of contraband.

“Sergeant Hallford’s skills and dedication have proven to be a valuable asset in keeping Escambia County citizens safe,” said Corrections Director Rich Powell. “He is one of many fine and outstanding men and women we have at Escambia County Corrections. I am proud to recognize him as the Employee of the Month and honor his commitment to serving our community.”

The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners commends and congratulates Sergeant Hallford on his selection as the February Employee of the Month.
