Licensing fees will also be waived during this time. Adoption fees include spay or neutering services, microchips, heartworm tests and initial vaccinations including rabies vaccinations. "By offering free adoptions to our community, we've been able to place pets in some wonderful homes," said Animal Welfare Director John Robinson. "Free adoptions are still available for another week, so we hope anyone who has not yet participated will come by and let our staff match you up to the perfect pet."
The Escambia County Animal Welfare and Adoption Center, located at 200 W. Fairfield Drive, is open Monday-Friday from 12-5 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Follow the center on Facebook to learn more about adoption events, featured pets and more.
