UF/IFAS Escambia Extension and Florida Master Gardeners volunteers are gearing up for this year’s Fall Garden Festival, held Saturday, Oct. 8 from 8-11 a.m. The annual event takes place at the Escambia Extension Office, located at 3740 Stefani Road, and is
free to the public.
During the event, attendees will have the chance to participate in demonstrations, informative talks, plant giveaways and more. The Extension office’s demonstration gardens will serve as a backdrop to feature discussion topics including growing
edible plants and herbs, alternatives to lawns, milkweeds, share gardening, hydrangea care and composting. The gardens will also be open for those who simply wish to stroll through for plant ideas. In addition, Master Gardeners will be available
for questions on gardening and selecting the right plants for your yard.
The Extension office is also currently accepting donations to their local Peanut Butter Challenge. The Peanut Butter Challenge is an annual event that donates peanut butter to those in need during the month of October. Unopened jars of peanut butter can
be delivered to the Escambia Extension office at 3740 Stefani Road. Click here to learn more about the Peanut Butter Challenge.
