Escambia County Animal Welfare to Host April 23 Adoption Event

Published Apr 22, 2022
The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare will host an adoption event on Saturday, April 23 at the Pensacola Bay Center, 201 E Gregory St., from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. The adoption event will take place during the Escambia County Career Extravaganza. During the event, adoption fees will be reduced to $25 for dogs and $10 for cats. Anyone wishing to adopt cats may do so at the Escambia County Animal Welfare and Adoption Center, located at 200 W Fairfield Dr.

Adoption fees include spay or neutering services, microchips, heartworm tests and the initial vaccinations including rabies vaccinations. Escambia County residents will be required to purchase a separate $11 license at the time of adoption. Visit PetHarbor to see all of the adoptable pets at the Animal Welfare and Adoption Center.

"Our adoption kennels are currently full, and our staff is working diligently to help find homes for these animals," said Animal Welfare Director John Robinson. "If you can't adopt right now, we encourage you to foster or join our volunteer group to help make a difference in an animal's life."

The Escambia County Animal Welfare and Adoption Center is open Monday through Friday from 12-5 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Visit here to learn more about the Escambia County Animal Welfare and Adoption Center. Follow the Escambia County Animal Welfare and Adoption Center on Facebook to stay up to date on adoption events, shelter news and more.
