After 41 years of dedicated service, Escambia County Fire Rescue Captain Stephen Craig Ammons is retiring, effective Dec. 17. Local media outlets are welcome to attend and cover the retirement ceremony.

WHERE: Escambia County Public Safety building, located at 6575 North "W" St., Pensacola, FL 32505

WHEN: Friday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m.

Stephen Craig Ammons has worked as a county employee very faithfully for 36 years, serving the citizens of Escambia County, retiring as Fire Captain for Escambia County Fire Rescue. Capt. Ammons began his career with Escambia County in 1985. Family, friends and colleagues of Capt. Ammons will be in attendance, including our elected officials. Capt. Ammons will take his last ride aboard Ladder 19 and arrive at Public Safety by 10 a.m. Events will take place outside of Public Safety, followed by refreshments inside. Media outlets are encouraged to share the news of the retirement and invite citizens to line up along "W" Street between ECFR Station 3 and the Public Safety building to wish Capt. Ammons well.
