State Representative Michelle Salzman from House District One, Escambia County District Five Commissioner Steven Barry, Feeding the Gulf Coast, Pinewoods Presbyterian Church and Cantonment Improvement Committee are hosting a food distribution on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021 from 8-10 a.m. The food distribution will take place in Carver Park, located at 208 Webb St., Cantonment. This food distribution will be on a first-come, first-served basis and will last until the 30,000 pounds of food have been given away. There is no requirement to receive the food. There will be a drive-through lane as well as a designated area for those who would like to walk to the park to receive their food.
This event is sponsored and lead by the following groups: State Representative Michelle Salzman, Escambia County District Five Commissioner Steven Barry, Feeding the Gulf Coast, Pinewoods Presbyterian Church, Cantonment Improvement Committee and Trailer Parts Plus of Florida.
This event is set up to be reoccurring at the rate of once per quarter. The north end of the county has a need for more community outreach, and Representative Salzman is working alongside stakeholders to try and fill in the gaps. There are several very active and capable organizations such as the ones partnering in this food distribution. All media and community outlets are invited to spread the word and attend the event.
