A portion of Stumpfied Road between Florida 95 (U.S. Highway 29) and Florida 95A (Old Palafox Highway) intersection will experience short-term road closure and detours.
Updates to the closure schedule were made based on inclement weather in the area. Instead of beginning April 15, the road closure will begin Tuesday, April 20 at 7 a.m. for construction to open cut the roadway to install a 4-inch gravity sewer service connecting to a 4-inch sewer stub-out and a 2-inch potable water service encased in a 4-inch polyethylene continuous casing connecting to a 2-inch water tap.
Stumpfield Road between U.S. Highway 29 and Old Palafox Highway will be closed to through traffic for the day and be reopened at 5 p.m. The same schedule will occur on Wednesday, April 21.
Traffic will be detoured along Industrial Blvd. The road closure is expected to last two days and may be complete and reopened permanently in one day if possible. If any further delay is anticipated beyond two days for any reason another notice will be issued.
A formal Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Plan was submitted and approved by the Escambia County Transportation and Traffic Operations Division. J. Miller Construction, Inc. is responsible for submittal of the approved MOT Plan and has a valid certificate for Advanced MOT training.
