Vaccination Information:

  • Ascension Sacred Heart-      

    As the State of Florida open eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccines, Ascension Medical Group Sacred Heart will meet the need with a series of vaccination clinics in Pensacola to give the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to anyone age 18 and older.

    Clinics will be held at Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola on:

    • April 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • April 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • April 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Online appointments can be made at www.GetSacredHeartCare.com. The clinics will offer either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, which require two shots about 3-4 weeks apart.

  • Baptist Health Care- Baptist Health Care is currently offering COVID-19 vaccination appointments at Baptist Medical Park – Nine Mile located at 9400 University Parkway in Pensacola while supplies last. Vaccinations will be given by appointment only. No walk-ins will be available.

    Individuals residing in Florida who meet the eligibility requirements may receive the vaccine.

    How to Make a Vaccination Appointment

    Appointments can be made one of three ways:

    • Visit EasySchedule.com. Click “procedure appointment” and complete the registration.
    • Email name and contact information to BHCVaccine@bhcpns.org.
    • For those who do not have email/internet access, call 850.908.SHOT (7468), Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Community Health Northwest Florida-

    Community Health Northwest Florida is holding a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Pensacola the week of April 5 at the Brownsville Community Center. Appointments are required for most clinics. Eligible persons who wish to participate in one of these events should call the Community Health COVID-19 Vaccine Call Center at 850-439-3358 to schedule an appointment.

    In keeping with recommendations from the CDC and FDA to pause Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccine administration, Community Health Northwest Florida is suspending the use of the COVID-19 Johnson and Johnson vaccine, pending further FDA and CDC guidance. This is a recommendation coming from the CDC and FDA and not a mandate. 

    All the details about our first CHNWF vaccination event to include the newly eligible (as of Monday April 5) 18 AND OLDER age group:

    Friday, April 16

    • Location: Brownsville Community Center

    • Time: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

    • APPOINTMENTS REQUIRED - Call 850-439-3358  

    • Vaccine: Moderna COVID-19 vaccine – First dose (of two)

These clinics are open to all Florida residents who qualify to receive the vaccine, including those covered under the Governor’s latest Executive Orders. Currently, the amended order expands the groups eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Florida to include all people age 18 and older.

  • West Florida Hospital
    • 1st dose vaccine clinic scheduled for Thursday, April 15, 2021
    • Appointments can be scheduled through this link. Walk-ins will not be possible.
    • This vaccine clinic is open to all Florida residents age 18+
    • Please note, vaccine recipients will be expected to return for their second dose on 5/14/2021
  • Florida Department of Health, Escambia County- FDOH-Escambia will schedule appointments based on supply availability. For the most up-to-date information, follow them on Twitter at @HealthyEscambia and visit EscambiaHealth.com.
    • Escambia County residents should use the statewide preregistration system to sign up for vaccination. Residents can call the toll-free line at 866-201-1025 or preregister online at myvaccine.fl.gov. The TTY number for the deaf and hard of hearing is 833-476-1461. Registrants will be notified when appointments are available in their area.
    • The State has established a help line at 833-959-0217 for those who need to make changes to their original pre-registration. This pre-registration system will proactively contact vaccine-eligible individuals to schedule appointments when they are available at health department or emergency management vaccine sites.
    • Appointments are opened based upon the vaccine supply received each week from the State of Florida. Please be aware that when ShareCare calls you to schedule an appointment, they will NOT ask for financial information or social security information.

  • Florida- Sign up for text message updates about the vaccine and distribution by texting "FLCOVID19" to 888777. After you submit the text message, it will ask you to supply your zip code for local-level updates. Information about the statewide vaccine distribution plan can be found at floridahealthcovid19.gov/covid-19-vaccines-in-florida/.
  • Walgreens- Eligible individuals can schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments at Walgreens. Walgreens is offering the Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines at select locations. Vaccine appointments can be scheduled at the following Walgreens locations:
    • 4497 Mobile Hwy- Vaccine: Pfizer (Florida residents 16 and up can receive the Pfizer vaccine.)
    • 20 W Nine Mile Road- Vaccine: Johnson & Johnson
    • 6314 N 9th Ave- Vaccine: Pfizer
    • 870 E Cervantes St- Vaccine: Johnson & Johnson
    • 700 N Pace Blvd.- Vaccine: Pfizer
    • 1841 E Olive Road- Vaccine: Johnson & Johnson
    • 5995 Mobile Highway- Vaccine: Johnson & Johnson
    • 2237 W Nine Mile Road- Vaccine: Johnson & Johnson

    How to schedule a vaccination appointment at Walgreens:

    • Option 1: To schedule a vaccine at Walgreens.com:
      • Visit www.walgreens.com/schedulevaccine.
      • Click "Schedule new appointment."
      • Check to see if appointments are available in your area.
      • Log-in or create a Walgreens pharmacy account.
      • Attest to meeting the state/local eligibility requirements and answer screening questions to determine if you are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. 
      • If eligible, select the date and time for both the first and second dose. Your appointment confirmation will be sent via email.
    • Option 2: To schedule a vaccine over the phone:
      • Call your local Walgreens pharmacy or 1-800-WALGREENS (1-800-925-4733)
      • Choose option 1 for COVID-19 vaccine appointment information. We can help you in English and Spanish
      • Follow the steps to schedule your appointment(s) for your first and second doses (if applicable)2
    • Option 3: To schedule inside a Walgreens store
      • Visit any local Walgreens store with a pharmacy.
      • Ask any pharmacy team member for assistance in scheduling a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

  • Join District 1 Commissioner Jeff Bergosh at his virtual 60th Coffee with the Commissioner event Wednesday, April 14. The live stream will take place from 6:30 - 7:30 a.m. Escambia County Administrator Janice Gilley, Interim Public Safety Director Eric Gilmore and Director of Marine Resources Robert Turpin will join the conversation. Discussion will include the county's response to COVID-19, issues of importance countywide and Director Turpin will be sharing all the great marine resources available in Escambia County as the summer season approaches.

  • Testing sites
    • Community Health Northwest Florida now offers drive-through COVID-19 testing three days per week from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
      • Mondays at 2315 W. Jackson St., Pensacola
      • Wednesdays at Cantonment Pediatrics, 470 S. US Hwy 29 in Cantonment
      • Fridays at 2315 W. Jackson St., Pensacola
      • For send out tests, no appointment is required.
      • For rapid tests (for symptomatic individuals), appointment is required; please call the CHNWF Covid-19 testing call center at 850-390-4276.
    • Baptist Health Care - Call the screening center at 850-434-4080 Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to determine if you need an appointment. Online assessment screenings are also available at eBaptistHealthCare.org or by texting “Screen” to 850-318-3080. The online assessment screening is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
    • Ascension Sacred Heart- Due to decreased demand for testing and lower rates of COVID-19 in the community, Ascension Medical Group Sacred Heart will close its drive-thru COVID-19 testing centers after April 1.

      • Ascension Sacred Heart will continue to provide COVID-19 testing at its Urgent Care Centers in Pensacola and Pace. The Urgent Care Center on Highway 29 in Pensacola and the Urgent Care Center on Highway 90 in Pace are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (The Urgent Care Centers will reduce their hours on Easter Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
      • Ascension Sacred Heart stands ready to ramp up drive-thru testing if there is another spike of the virus in the community.
  • Rapid testing information
    • Appointments are available for Escambia County residents who are 3 months and older and are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. Patients desiring COVID-19 testing through Ascension Sacred Heart's locations in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties should pre-register online by visiting: www.getsacredheartcare.com to be pre-screened and scheduled (if eligible) or call Community Health Northwest Florida at 850-390-4276. Rapid testing is offered for symptomatic individuals by appointment only.

Escambia County Corrections

  • Cumulatively, 1,349 Escambia County inmates have been tested:
    • 251 positive (225 have been medically cleared, and 22 have been released from custody, leaving 4 active, positive cases at this time)
    • 1098 negative
    • 0 pending
  • At the Walton County jail, 29 Escambia County inmates tested positive out of the 146 inmates housed there.

Florida Department of Health in Escambia County

  • Effective Monday, April 5, 2021, all Florida residents are eligible to receive any COVID-19 vaccine as prescribed by the Food and Drug Administration, as described in the Governor’s Executive Order.
  • FDOH-Escambia announced this week’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan in Escambia County. During the week of April 12, 2021, FDOH-Escambia is offering same-day clinic appointments and will hold 1 off-site clinic for Florida residents 18 and older:
    • Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at FDOH-Escambia: 1295 W Fairfield Dr. Pensacola, FL 32501. Same-day appointments may be available by calling 850-595-6554.
    • Thursday, April 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brownsville Community Center: 3200 W De Soto St, Pensacola, FL 32505. Walk-ins will be accepted between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
  • Residents can use the statewide preregistration system, at myvaccine.fl.gov to get in line for appointments as new schedules are opened. They may also call 850-595-6554 to be scheduled into any remaining available appointments. Questions can be directed to FDOH-Escambia’s COVID-19 phone line at 850-595-6500 option 6.
  • Escambia County residents should use the statewide preregistration system to sign up for vaccination.   • FDOH-Escambia highlights recent efforts in providing the COVID-19 vaccine in Escambia County.
  • Florida has launched a COVID-19 Vaccine Report that will be updated daily. As of April 13, 85,172 Escambia County residents have been vaccinated.
  • As of 2 p.m., April 13, Escambia County has had 35,243 positive COVID-19 cases. This number is expected to change daily due to the return of results from ongoing testing. The best source for up-to-date information regarding confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Florida is the Florida Department of Health website and the associated Data and Surveillance Dashboard and Daily Report. The site is currently updated once daily, at around 3 p.m. ET.
  • The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Escambia County residents is 675 individuals.
