Pensacola Beach Traffic Pattern for this Weekend

Due to the closure of the Pensacola Bay Bridge, traffic exiting Pensacola Beach is expected to be heavier traveling eastbound toward the Garcon Point Bridge this weekend. In order to mitigate traffic congestion, on March 6 and 7 from 1 to 7 p.m., cones will be placed on S.R. 30/U.S. 98 prior to the S.R. 399 flyover for eastbound traffic. These cones will direct vehicles to the left lane while beach traffic will be directed into the right lane of S.R. 30/U.S. 98.

Public Safety encourages residents and visitors to follow all Pensacola Beach rules and exercise caution when visiting the beach and swimming in the Gulf, especially when lifeguards are not present:                                   

• Posted signage includes instructions on following social distancing guidelines. Limit groups to 10 people or fewer and adhere to CDC social distancing measures by keeping a 6-foot distance between others not in the immediate household.

• Know how to escape from a rip current. Watch our rip current video and learn how to break the rip's grip, which can pull even the strongest swimmer out to sea.
• Glass containers are not allowed on the beach.
• The west side of the Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier is an alcohol-free zone.
• Open containers are not allowed off the boardwalk or outside any establishment.
• No alcohol can be consumed in any parking lot on Santa Rosa Island.
