Escambia County
  • Hospital Information totals as of 9 a.m. May 20, 2020 (county SITREP)
    • Hospitalizations 62 (running total; this is not a total of current hospitalizations)

  • Did you miss the virtual 41st Coffee with Commissioner Jeff Bergosh? District 1 Commissioner Jeff Bergosh hosted his virtual 41st Coffee with Commissioner from 6:30 - 7:30 a.m. this morning and guests included Vicki Campbell, ECUA District 1 Board Member, Kevin Adams, Escambia County School Board, District 1 and Janice Gilley, Escambia County Administrator. The discussion was centered on the challenges for the future for ECUA and Escambia County Schools. Watch it here. 

Community Health Northwest Florida 

  • Thursday May 21, the Community Health Northwest Florida COVID-19 drive-through mobile testing unit will be at Carver Park - 208 Webb St., Cantonment, Fla. from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. or until testing supplies lasts.
  • Friday May 22, the Community Health Northwest Florida COVID-19 drive-through mobile testing unit will be at Marie K. Young Wedgewood Community Center and Park - 6405 Wagner Rd, Pensacola, Fla. 32505 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. or until testing supplies lasts.
    • For Escambia County residents of all ages.
    • No pre-screening required.
    • Residents need to bring photo ID and insurance card (if insured).

Feeding the Gulf Coast: Emergency Summer Meal Sites 

  • Families are encouraged to locate a summer community feeding location by going to summerbreakspot.freshfromflorida.com, and entering a home address. This website provides a map showing feeding sites nearby.  Families without internet access can call 2-1-1 or text FOODFL to 877-877 for assistance as well.

Florida Department of Health in Escambia County

  • FDOH-Escambia announced a new drive-thru testing site at Pensacola State College Warrington Campus. It is free to all Florida residents and scheduled to open this Thursday, May 21 at 10 a.m. Individuals are asked to remain in their vehicles, and pre-screening is not required. For more information, please visit the dedicated COVID-19 webpage.
  • The Florida Department of Health announced the launch of a new mobile app, StrongerThanC19. The free app, available for iOS and Android devices, complements the community action survey website of the same name that launched on April 3. These cutting-edge tools are giving residents the power to unite in the fight to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in Florida.
  • As of 2 p.m., May 20, Escambia County has had 723 positive COVID-19 cases.  This number is expected to change daily due to the return of results from ongoing testing. The best source for up-to-date information regarding confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Florida is the Florida Department of Health website and the associated Data and Surveillance Dashboard and Daily Report. The site is currently updated once daily, at around 3 p.m. ET.
  • The total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Escambia County residents is 21 individuals.
  • The Florida Department of Health (the Department) releases a list of long-term care facilities in Florida associated with COVID-19 cases with active cases and number of deaths in each facility in order to provide real-time data. The list of long-term care facilities with active COVID-19 cases is available here.
  • The Department is providing a report detailing surveillance data for every Florida county. Previously, this information was only available for select communities. The surveillance data report is available here.
  • To view demographics of cases in Escambia County, visit the COVID-19 dashboard and select Escambia County. The following case data will appear: age, gender, race, and ethnicity.
  • Use the COVID 19 testing self-checker to determine if you need to call your healthcare provider to be tested.
