Escambia County Employees Graduate from Certified Public Manager Program

The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to announce the graduation of eight employees from Florida’s Certified Public Manager program. The graduates are among hundreds of individuals statewide who completed the program:

Doug Fortune - Information Technology, Division Manager 
Rufus Smith IV - Information Technology, VOIP Coordinator
Joe Quinn - Fire Marshall
Kelly Beecher - Emergency Medical Specialist, Paramedic
Kate Kenney - Escambia County Emergency Medical Services, Section Chief
Brandon Knuth - Information Technology, Coordinator
David Myers - Information Technology, Web Developer and Coordinator
Tamika Williams - Public Safety, Division Manager, Business Operations Division

The Florida CPM program is a nationally-recognized leadership development program, currently delivered in 38 states. The purpose is to develop more effective public managers, thereby improving services to all Florida taxpayers.

These new graduates have completed a rigorous two-year program, including 32 days of training, plus required projects and exams. Over 100 government agencies, including cities, counties, state and constitutional offices, have participated in the Florida CPM program.

Florida has one of the most successful CPM programs in the country. It is administered by the Florida Center for Public Management at The Florida State University, which is part of the Askew School of Public Administration and Policy.
