The Escambia County Community Redevelopment Agency invites the community to the 2017 Celebrating Brownsville Festival, a free event featuring local artists, crafts, free food and more.
The festival will take place Saturday, Aug. 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Brownsville Community Center, located at 3200 W. De Soto St. This year's festival will have an art exhibition, live entertainment, local vendors and artisans, free children's activities and music from local band "The Truth featuring Cat Rhodes." Attendees can also help save a life by participating in the Celebrating Brownsville blood drive with OneBlood.
The festival will be unveiling the winning artwork from the juried “Brownsville Arts and Cultural Exhibit” at approximately 2 p.m. Select artwork will become part of the ongoing Celebrating Brownsville Urban Art Mural Project and reproduced and installed on the streets of Brownsville.
Back-to-school grab bags will be available to school-age children on a first come, first served basis. Children must be in attendance to receive their bag.
