Wedgewood Area Community Meeting Planned for Oct. 13

Published Oct 5, 2016

A community meeting has been planned for Wedgewood residents to discuss a request by Eager Beaver Professional Tree Care, LLC to have its current location approved for vegetative yard trash processing. The meeting will take place on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 5 p.m. at the Marie K. Young-Wedgewood Community Center located at 6405 Wagner Road.

A special project condition has been put in place that requires that prior to issuance of any permit for the recycling facility's activities, the Escambia County Board of County of Commissioners must approve the recycling permit for the facility and its operations of the site at a duly advertised public hearing. No land disturbing permits, building construction or land clearing pre-site activities shall be permitted prior to BCC approval. If BCC approval of the recycling permit is not obtained, then this development order will automatically terminate and be rendered null and void.

The owner has expressed a desire to grind debris left over from his tree business into mulch that will be sold to the public. The Site Plan Development Order, which includes a project description/conditions, the Development Review Committee recommendation, permit  and conditions, a boundary and topographical survey, and an impact and operational analysis, is available below.

Prior to issuance of any permit for recycling, county staff and representatives from Eager Beaver will be on hand to answer questions and address concerns at this community meeting. For more information, please call the Escambia County Development Services Department at (850) 595-3475 or visit our website at MyEscambia.com/EagerBeaver.
