Published Mar 22, 2016

The SunPass®/Pensacola Beach Annual Pass sales office at the Santa Rosa Island Authority office will be closed the following dates this week:

  • Wednesday, March 23 for employee training
  • Friday, March 25 in observance of Good Friday

The Santa Rosa Island Authority office will also be closed on Good Friday.

The SRIA office is located at 1 Via De Luna Drive on Pensacola Beach. Both offices will be open Thursday, March 24 and will reopen on Monday, March 28 for normal business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

The training is in preparation for the May 31 launch of the Florida Turnpike Enterprise’s SunPass® prepaid electronic tolling system on the Bob Sikes Bridge entering Pensacola Beach. Users with a SunPass® can begin using their transponders at the bridge toll plaza starting May 26. For drivers who choose not to use SunPass®, cash will continue to be accepted at the Bob Sikes Bridge toll plaza. Both SunPass® and cash tolls on the Bob Sikes Bridge will remain $1 per vehicle.

SunPass® transponders may be purchased at the SRIA office, online at www.SunPass.com or at retail outlets including Publix, CVS Pharmacy and Walgreens.

Escambia County will offer extended hours at the Santa Rosa Island Authority office during the month of May, providing additional help to residents who want to enroll in SunPass® or purchase a Pensacola Beach Annual Pass. Temporary hours will be:

  • Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon
