The Escambia County Information Technology Department partnered with Cisco and Firefly on August 27 and 28 to offer technical training on Cisco servers to various agencies and companies in the Florida Panhandle area. Information Technology hosted representatives from the Walton County Board of County Commissioners and Schools, Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners, Wind Creek Hospitality, Pensacola Christian College, Escambia County Sheriff’s Department and Carr, Riggs, & Ingram, LLC.
The IT Department has used Cisco Server technology since 2011, while other agencies and companies in attendance had only recently acquired it. Cisco is unlike other traditional server technologies and requires an administrator to look at it from a different perspective. This made the combination of both textbook and practical, hands-on experience invaluable to those in attendance.
This was an exciting opportunity, and the Escambia County Information Technology Department looks forward to hosting similar events for other agencies and the public in the future.
