Escambia County adopted a Local Preference Initiative on September 16, 2013, to improve local business access to bidding on vehicles and equipment being sought for purchase by the County. The initiative took effect October 1, 2013. The Escambia County website, MyEscambia.com, has implemented an alert specifically for businesses and residents interested in updates regarding Purchasing, a division of Budget and Management Services.
Information distributed through this newsletter includes how to conduct business with Escambia County, vendor registration and solicitation details, purchasing laws and more. To directly view this information, visit MyEscambia.com/purchasing.
There are typically multiple listings on our Pending Vehicle and Equipment page, which can be viewed here. Posted purchases will be delayed for a period of 30 days to allow for submission of offers from valued local vendors interested in meeting or beating the posted purchase price. When there are listings for vehicles and equipment available for purchase, the banner will be displayed on the home page of MyEscambia.com.
Businesses can register to receive Purchasing alerts by visiting MyEscambia.com, selecting the ‘Notify Me’ button on the left side navigation and choosing ‘purchasing,’ among other options, such as general alerts, crisis alerts and news specific to each commission district.
