Application Deadline Extended for Tourism Representative to RESTORE Committee Open Until April 10

The application deadline for a representative from the Tourism industry to serve on the Escambia County RESTORE (Resources and Ecosystems Sustainability Tourist Opportunities and Revived Economies of the Gulf Coast States) Act Advisory Committee has been extended until April 10 at 12:00 p.m. The purpose of the Committee is to develop a plan, take public input and set the final goals for the community’s use of RESTORE funds. The Committee reviews projects and submits recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners for consideration. The Committee consists of eleven members who are residents of Escambia County, with other committee members individually representing the financial industry, economic development, transportation, government, the City of Pensacola, local environmental advocacy organizations and four at-large positions.

The RESTORE Act Advisory Committee meets a minimum of once a month, but additional meetings may be held.

The tourism committee representative will be selected by the Board of County Commissioners and should have significant recent experience working in hospitality, hotel or other related tourist-based business. The Commission will evaluate and select the tourism representative during the April 23, 2015 Board of County Commissioner Meeting.
