Escambia County UF/IFAS Extension will be offering a one-day workshop to help growers develop their own food safety manuals on Friday, January 30, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. At the end of the workshop, your farm will have a ready to print copy of the main components of a food safety manual and a plan for your own farm.
The workshop will be done on a computer (one laptop will be provided for in-house use per farm if necessary) using a web-based food safety manual development program. The workshop is developed and presented by the University of Florida, Small Farms Academy and will be held at the Escambia County UF/IFAS Extension Office, 3740 Stefani Road, Cantonment.
The registration fee is $35 for the first person representing a farm and $15 for an additional attendee. The registration fee includes refreshments and lunch. All educational materials in the Food Safety Tool Kit will be provided for the farms through grant funding. Registration is confirmed when a registration form and payment is received.
