Rawson Lane Draft Traffic Study is an independent study prepared by Engineering and Planning Resources to determine what impact the closure of Rawson Lane and Brent Lane would have on Norwood, Hancock, and surrounding neighborhoods and businesses. Because the County Commissioners are accountable to the community as a whole, they initiated an independent traffic study to determine how the vacation request of Rawson Lane could impact the adjacent communities, which include Norwood, Hancock, and surrounding neighborhoods and businesses. The primary goal of the county’s study was to collect data and perform analysis to determine the potential impact that the closure will have on residents of the adjacent communities.
In April, the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing. Please remember, since any decision will impact a wide range of citizens, your input is essential in helping the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners to make the best decision about the future of Rawson Lane and its use. While the study provides the data, the commission will base its decision on the data as well as resident input.
