Robert Bender, District 4 

Born and raised in Pensacola, Robert Bender is in his first term as Escambia County’s District 4 Commissioner. Since he returned to Pensacola in 2012, he has served as an insurance consultant for USI Insurance Services, focusing on large commercial and public entity clients. 


He is active in the community, serving as a current member or past member for Leadership Pensacola Class of 2013 (project Co-Chair), the finance committee for Episcopal Day School, and the executive committee for the First Tee of Northwest Florida. He has chaired committees for the Pensacola Seafood and Crawfish Festivals, participates annually in the Men Who Cook fundraiser for the PACE Center for Girls, and is a member of Christ Church. 

Robert earned his MBA from Goizueta Business School at Emory University in Atlanta, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN and graduated from Pensacola High School. 

He and his wife Amy have two children.

The county committed $10 million to "Project Titan" to help expand the ST Engineering Aerospace Maintenance facility in Pensacola. The fiscal impact to the county is estimated at $5.1 million annually.

 

Construction of two parking lot expansion projects adding approximately 150 new spaces to the commercial core of Pensacola Beach, at Casino Beach and at the Old Visitor’s Information Center, began.  

 

Olive Road Phase 2 began with more pedestrian, traffic capacity and drainage improvements from Yancy to Johnson, re-routing Johnson at Winding Lane to a new traffic signaled intersection at Olive Road and Harbor Square Drive.
