The purpose of the Stacey & Quintette Drainage Improvements project is to replace the undersized drainage infrastructure from the northwest corner of Stacey Road and Quintette Road to the outfall approximately 3/4 of a mile south along the east side of Stacey Road. This existing drainage system is composed of 50’ of triple 36” reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) and 300’ of 3’ x 6’ box culvert. The improvements are designed to prevent overtopping of the road, and to contain the stormwater flow within the upstream and downstream ditches during a 100-year storm event.
The existing drainage system causes Quintette Road to overtop and the upstream ditch to surcharge and come within 7” of the finished floor elevation of the home adjacent to the stormwater channel during a 25-year event. This project will replace the existing system with approximately 350’ of 4’ x 10’ box culvert. Also included is the installation of 100’ of a 10’ wide paved concrete ditch upstream from the existing system, reconstruction of ¾ of a mile of Stacey Road and the milling and resurfacing of the intersection of Stacey Road and Quintette Road, along with the regrading of the existing downstream ditch. Utility relocations for ECUA (sewer lines) and Cottage Hill (water lines) will be included and coordination with Okaloosa Gas to avoid impact to their facilities.
