PROJECT CANCELLED:
INABILITY TO ACQUIRE PROPERTIES REQUIRED FOR POND EXPANSION
The southwest end of South Gulf Manor subdivision, where the drainage system outfalls to an existing detention pond, has been an area of complaint by adjacent residents.
During major storm events, several homeowners have reported flooding, caused by the existing pond, backing up into the neighborhood. This pond does not meet County standards, due to steep side slopes, no access for maintenance, and not having been maintained.
The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate the existing pond to reduce flooding and provide a pond that can be maintained by the County. Property acquisition adjacent to an existing pond will be necessary to upgrade the pond to County standards.
