Pensacola Beach Crosswalks - ADA Upgrades

The intent of this project is to evaluate and upgrade 5 existing crosswalks on Pensacola Beach. The first crosswalk (commonly known as the Shaggy's Crosswalk) is located south of the Bob Sikes Bridge Toll Plaza, whereas the remaining 4 crosswalks are east of the signalized intersection of Via DeLuna drive and Fort Pickens Road prior to reaching the Avenida roads. The project will provide ADA compliant crosswalks with enhanced design features to promote safety, pedestrian awareness and visibility, while establishing an attractive theme for residents and guests visiting Pensacola Beach.

The BCC approved a change order to the Pensacola Beach Master Plan for Baskerville-Donovan, Inc, (BDI) to provide the design services for the project at its 4/23/15 regular meeting.
