The portion of Merlin Road between Meadson and Oak View and the surrounding area is prone to flooding due to the lack of a positive outfall or stormwater conveyance system.
It was determined that the best flooding mitigation system for this area involves expanding the existing ditch capacity and routing stormwater from Helen Caro Elementary School into the school’s onsite stormwater pond as well as providing an outlet for the roadside swales along Merlin Road into the bay.
The final phase includes improvement of sidewalk, curbing, ditch capacity, and demolition of the asphalt curbing/walkway. New asphalt paving installation from Sorrento to Meadson (approximately 3000 feet.)
