Eleven Mile Creek Restoration

The Eleven Mile Creek Basin covers approximately 22,000 acres in west central Escambia County.  The mainstream channel is fed by 56 different contributing tributaries, including Eight Mile Creek, Ten Mile Creek, Coffee Creek, and Hurst Branch.  Eleven Mile Creek eventually discharges to upper Perdido Bay near the mouth of the Perdido River.  Funding for planning, design, and permitting has been secured through the Escambia County RESTORE Direct Component allocation (Pot 1).  Design objectives include Water Quality Improvements; Stream & Floodplain Restoration; Flood Protection; Nonfunctional Stormwater Infrastructure Repairs; Invasive Species Removal; and Community Resilience Enhancement.
