Escambia County Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the start of the 2026 Gulf Coast Recreation Classic at John R. Jones Ballpark, located 555 E. Nine Mile Road. The games began Monday, June 22 and last until Saturday, June 27. Game times are 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m., and 7:15 p.m. Monday-Friday, and Saturday games will begin at 10 a.m. Games will be played at NEP, Roger Scott, and PARA.

52 recreation-based all-star teams will participate in the Gulf Coast Recreation Classic, including teams from Escambia County, City of Pensacola, City of Gulf Breeze, Santa Rosa County, and Okaloosa County. Teams consist of youth baseball players ages 7-15. The tournament is open to the public at no charge. All spectators are welcome to come support the recreation all-stars. Escambia County teams include players from Perdido Baseball, NEP Baseball, Molino Recreation Association, and Brent Baseball.

"It's an honor for us to host the event again this year, and we look forward to welcoming all of the players, coaches, and fans," Parks and Recreation Director Michael Rhodes said. "Our Parks and Recreation crews have worked extremely hard to prepare the facility for this event and get the field ready to host the teams, even through rainy conditions and extreme heat over the past few days. We encourage everyone to come join us this week to support local youth sports in our community."
