Animal Welfare to Participate in Petco Love MEGA Adoption Event June 20-21

Published Jun 17, 2026

The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare is excited to partner with Petco Love for the Florida MEGA Pet Adoption Event, offering free adoptions for dogs and cats of all ages Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21.

Escambia County Animal Welfare encourages the community to visit the shelter and consider giving a forever home to one of the many loving pets available for adoption.

A $15 licensing fee will be applied to all adoptions for Escambia County residents. To see a full list of adoptable pets in Escambia County, visit 24petconnect.com.

The adoption fee for pets younger than one year old will be $50 for puppies and $25 for kittens.

Petco Love’s Florida MEGA Adoption Event is powered by a lifesaving investment from Petco Love for the Jacksonville Humane Society and is facilitated by JHS’s Florida Leaders in Lifesaving program. During the 2025 Florida MEGA Adoption Event, 2,103 dogs and cats found new, loving homes in just three days, demonstrating the power of coordinated, community-driven lifesaving efforts at a time when many shelters are at a critical capacity.
