Published Apr 24, 2026

The Escambia County Department of Animal Welfare invites the public to its "Petpalooza" event Saturday, May 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Animal Welfare and Adoption Center, located at 200 W. Fairfield Drive. This event is free and open to the public.

During the event, attendees will enjoy free pet adoptions, food trucks, vendors, pet resources, and more.

“I’m excited to invite everyone to our second annual ‘Petpalooza,’” Escambia County Animal Welfare Director John Robinson said. “We had a great show of support from our community last year, and we’re excited to once again host this fun, family-friendly event for pet lovers of all ages. I’d like to thank everyone who helped make 'Petpalooza' possible and continues to support the work we do in our community. Everyone is invited to come out, take advantage of our free pet adoptions, and enjoy a fun afternoon with us."

Free adoptions are sponsored by BISSELL Pet Foundation, with adoption fees waived on cats and dogs one year or older. Puppies will be available for $50, and kittens will be available for $25. A $15 licensing fee will be applied to all adoptions for Escambia County residents.

Attendees will be able to adopt pets same day during “Petpalooza." Visit 24petconnect.com to see a full list of adoptable pets in Escambia County.
