Residents are encouraged to monitor the risk and have multiple ways to receive weather updates.
Escambia County has a Slight Risk for severe weather, according to the National Weather Service of Mobile. A line of storms will move across the area early Thursday morning, with the timing for Escambia County expected to be between midnight and 4 a.m. Possible hazards include damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph and possible tornadoes as strong as EF2.
All Escambia County beaches will be at a High Risk of rip currents beginning Wednesday evening and continuing throughout Thursday. During this time, the surf will be dangerous for all levels of swimmers.
