Pensacola Bay Fishing Bridge Replacement Project to Begin December 2025

Published Nov 26, 2025

Escambia County’s Construction Management Division is preparing to begin construction on the Pensacola Bay Fishing Bridge, which sustained damage during Hurricane Sally in September 2020.

Construction is scheduled to begin in December 2025 and includes demolishing the existing bridge to replace it with a new structure mirroring its original design. Necessary improvements will be made to the bridge to ensure it meets all FEMA guidelines and Escambia County codes and standards. The bridge will remain closed during the construction period.

The project is expected to be completed by Summer 2027, weather permitting.

The Pensacola Bay Fishing Bridge Project is funded by FEMA, with construction costs totaling $22,873,000. Russell Marine, LLC, is the primary contractor for the project.
