Chipley, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has completed the replacement of the Interstate Circle bridge over Eight Mile Creek in Escambia County.
The newly constructed bridge accommodates two 10-foot travel lanes (one in each direction), flanked by five-foot paved shoulders with traffic railing that meets current standards.

The original bridge was constructed in 1970 and considered functionally obsolete.
This $3.2 million bridge replacement project is part of FDOT’s continued effort to improve traffic flow and increase safety on state roadways.
