Escambia County will host a second public meeting for the Bob Sikes Fishing Pier South Rehabilitation Project at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 10 at the Santa Rosa Island Authority, located at 1 Via de Luna Drive on Pensacola Beach.
During the meeting, staff will share the current design phase of the project and outline the next steps. Staff will also share the proposed timeline and answer any questions about the project. Residents are invited and encouraged to attend to learn more about the project.
The Bob Sikes Fishing Pier South Rehabilitation Project is funded by a federal RESTORE grant and a Deepwater Horizon Natural Resource Damage Assessment grant. The RESTORE grant will fund rehabilitation of the existing pier's substructure and Construction Engineering and Inspection services required to ensure the project is built according to plans and specifications. The NRDA grant will fund the addition of ADA-compliant pedestrian railing, pier deck lighting, and informational and educational signage.
