Several CSX Transportation railroad crossings in Century will experience temporary closures Thursday, Dec. 5, while crews perform maintenance on the railroad tracks.
The following railroad crossings are scheduled to be temporarily closed for maintenance:
- E. Cottage Street - closing at 5 a.m.
- E. McCurdy Street - closing at 5 a.m.
- E. Hecker Road - closing at 4:30 a.m.
- Front Street - closing at 4 a.m.
- E. Pond Street - closing at 3:30 a.m.
- Jefferson Avenue - closing at 3 a.m.
- Salters Lake Road - closing at 2:30 a.m.
Each railroad crossing will be closed for approximately 24-72 hours depending on the required work.
Please note that the roads will be temporarily closed at different times throughout the closure period depending on the maintenance schedule. Traffic will be detoured during this time.
All activities are weather-dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Motorists are reminded to travel with care through the work zone and to watch for construction equipment and workers entering and exiting the roadway.
