Chipley, Fla. - Later this month, the Florida Department of Transportation will begin a $2.34 million resurfacing project on Pine Forest Road (State Road 297), from Mobile Highway (U.S. 90) to Blue Angel Parkway (S.R. 173), in Escambia County.
In addition to resurfacing the travel lanes, this project also includes:
- Sidewalk and crosswalk improvements, including Americans with Disabilities Act upgrades
- Traffic signal upgrades
- New signing and pavement markings
During construction, lane closures will be limited to 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
This project is estimated for completion in mid-2025.
All activities are weather dependent and may be delayed or rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. Drivers are reminded to use caution, especially at night, when traveling through a work zone and to watch for construction workers and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.
