Animal Welfare staff recently received specialized animal search and rescue training as part of a joint effort with the Escambia County Fire Rescue Special Operations Team, covering special skills needed to assist animals and the public following a disaster. Funded by a $50,000 grant from the ASPCA's Disaster Response Grant, the joint ASAR training covered large animal rescues and water rescues involving animals and humans.
