On Tuesday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., the Escambia County Board of County Commissioners and the City of Pensacola are hosting the Real Change community partner event at the Brownsville Community Center.
Escambia County and the City of Pensacola are accepting donations that can be dropped off at the BRACE office located at 150 W. Maxwell St. between 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
Examples of items to donate include:
- Water
- Socks
- Non-perishable food
- Sunscreen
- Shoes
- Hats
- Backpacks
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
- Deodorant
- Wipes
- Bikes
Real Change is a free event that focuses on opioid addiction education and introduces attendees to the various resources available in the community.
Attendees will receive a variety of free services, including:
- Free lunch
- Transportation to and from the event courtesy of ECAT (must be wearing the Real Change wristband)
- Free haircuts
- Community supportive services
- Florida ID services
- Veteran supportive services
Additionally, attendees will learn about Escambia County's CORE program, which is a one-of-its-kind addiction and opioid recovery program.
