The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to recognize Tori Harris, IT Analyst in the Information Technology Department, as the August 2023 Employee of the Month. The board recognized Tori’s selection at the Aug. 3 BCC meeting.

Tori began his career with Escambia County on April 19, 2021. As an IT Analyst, he provides guidance and support for various county departments, including Corrections, Facilities, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, and Waste Services. He works closely on all associated databases, servers, and custom applications for these departments.

Tori also serves as a project manager for all IT projects involving his departments. Projects he has managed include several associated with the new Escambia County jail, including setting up the GED testing room for inmates, the virtual first appearance room, the law enforcement officer room in booking and expanding video surveillance viewing capacity to accommodate the command staff. He coordinated with Verizon to install SpiderCloud technology, providing staff cellular service inside the jail.

Other projects Tori has worked on include a custom-built application to track county risk investigations and updating video surveillance equipment at several county locations. He also worked closely with the county’s web coordinator to develop the PowerBI visuals for the Community Shelter Dashboard.

In addition, Tori is responsible for fostering close relationships with the vendors of several county applications, including Lucity, SmartCop and Informer. He participates in requests for proposals to ensure that new software fits the strategic vision of the county and meets all security requirements.

"Tori is a key member of the Information Technology department and a valuable asset to the county," said Interim IT Director Scott MacDonald. "He provides high-level support to our county departments and regularly looks for ways to improve our processes. We are proud to recognize him as the Employee of the Month and celebrate his hard work."

Tori is a graduate of the University of West Florida. He is a veteran of the United States Army and has served two tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. While attending UWF, Tori was a charter member and treasurer of the Student Veterans of America and a member of the Association of Information Systems organization. He has also served as a loaned executive for United Way of Escambia County.

The Escambia County Board of County Commissioners commends and congratulates Tori on his selection as the August 2023 Employee of the Month.
