On Tuesday, Aug. 1, Escambia County Fire Rescue, along with several local organizations, gathered at the Gulfside Pavilion in Pensacola Beach to participate in the 2023 CEO Soak in an effort to raise funds for the ALS Association Florida Chapter.
Inspired by the Ice Bucket Challenge, the CEO Soak is a gathering of local CEOs, managers and community leaders who line up to get sprayed with water by ECFR firefighters. Throughout the fundraising event, over $20,000 was raised towards research to find a cure for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
"Escambia County Fire Rescue was happy to partner with the Florida Chapter of the ALS Foundation and support a great cause like the CEO Soak," said Deputy Fire Chief Paul Williams. "We look forward to our continued partnership and support of this event."
