Escambia County residents are encouraged to monitor potential severe weather with the enhanced risk of damaging winds, tornadoes, large hail, high surf and dangerous rip currents on Friday, June 16.
The National Weather Service in Mobile, Ala. projects that large swaths of damaging winds in excess of 60 mph, large hail up to two inches in diameter and strong tornadoes are possible for Escambia County.
Following Thursday evening and Friday morning's severe weather impact the area, Escambia County is working to assess damages throughout the county and launching recovery efforts to damage-impacted areas. Residents are encouraged to continue monitoring the forecast as additional severe weather is forecasted for Escambia County.
Escambia County is offering sand for residents living in flood-prone areas. The sand is available on a first come, first served basis. Residents must bring their own sandbags and shovels to one of the following locations (map):
Residents can sign up for Alert Escambia emergency updates through the Emergency Management website.
Citizens can also report storm-related damages. If you receive damage to your home due to the storm, please report it to the Escambia County Citizens Damage Report.
