The public comment period has opened for the Rebuild Florida Voluntary Home Buyout Program. The Rebuild Florida Voluntary Home Buyout Program is designed to encourage risk reduction through the purchase of residential property in high flood risk areas to help reduce the impact of future disasters.

Escambia County values citizen and stakeholder engagement and will provide a reasonable opportunity of at least 30 days for citizen comment and ongoing citizen access to information about the use of these grant funds. During the development of the grant applications, the county will consult with disaster-affected citizens, stakeholders, local government, public housing authorities and other affected parties in the surrounding geographic area.
The public comment period for these projects is open from Wednesday, March 1 until Friday, March 31. All public comments can be emailed to sallyrecoverygrant@myescambia.com.
